Thur 17th June - Day 62, to Lairg (17 miles)

I got a good nights sleep, waking at 04:15 and it was my kind of weather, dry, cloudy with a hint of sun, a wind & no midges.

I waded across the stream in my sandals without any trouble and after putting my socks & boots back on set off across the hill to meet up with the track. For a change, the track had been extended & I met it sooner. After 5 miles the track met the road & the showers started.

12 miles of road walking took me to Invershin, past Shin Falls & onto the campsite at Lairg, the tent was up just before a prolonged shower.

Both yesterday & today, after lunch, I have felt really tired & could easily have fallen asleep on my sticks. The tiredness passed eventually, I should try to go to sleep earlier tonight.

This is the last proper campsite until the end.
