Wed 12th May - Day 26, Hay-on-Wye to Kington (15 miles)
Disgwylfa Hill, Newchurch |
It might well be dry but the sodden ground soon made my boots & feet wet.
I had my second break at 10:40 at Newchurch before going over Disgwylfa Hill then down into Gladestry.
I had my lunch here on a wooden seat in the middle of the village.
The cloud was beginning to lift and break up, I'd had a stomach ache all morning with no idea what caused it.
Campsite at Kington |
There was a laundrette in Kington so I was at last able to get everything washed.
The sun never did come out but it brightened up enough to hang up my boots & other damp items to try to dry.
Today was a series of up & downs through farmland as I crossed 3 valleys between Hay-on-Wye and Kington.
My early starts usually mean I do 10 miles before I stop for lunch, that way I keep my options open for where I finish. Today my wet feet dictated I only do 15 miles.
414 miles completed.
