Log No 355. Tue 24th Jun 2014 - Burnham Deepdale to Shepherd's Port, 17 miles (5420 miles walked)

Brancaster Staithe Quay |

The footpath to Brancaster |
From the quay at Brancaster Staithe the path must generally be very wet as it was duck board nearly all the way to Brancaster making it a very easy half hour walk.

The footpath to Holme-next-the-Sea |
I went along the embankment by the creek to get to the dunes and I was expecting another sandy footpath but there was a hardcore path right the way round the coast to the car park near Holme-next-the-Sea.

The beach to Hunstanton |
I didn't stay on it long as it was easier walking down on the beach where I could find harder packed sand.

The cliffs at Hunstanton |
There has been quite a bit of erosion on this small stretch of cliff.
I went into Hunstanton to do some shopping then got back onto the promenade.

The Wash Monster |

Another Wash Monster |

The beach from Hunstanton |
The track was hard going as it had that much wind blown sand on it so I went back onto the beach for the final 2 hours walk to Diglea Caravan Park at Shepherd's Port where I had been offered a pitch at a much reduced rate. I arrived here at 14.00
Since lunch the sky had become increasingly cloudy and I was having the odd spots of rain. It stayed dry right up until I was putting the flysheet on the tent and then it rained for about an hour, so I had got here just in time.
It felt more like a normal days walk today having done 17 miles.
