Coasting Round Britain

30th March 2013 to 12th July 2014
Kilberry to Carradale (23)
1926 out of 5630 miles completed

Log No 124. Sat 7th Sep 2013 - Machrihanish to Largiebaan, 6 miles (1926 miles walked)

Looking back to Machrihanish Bay
I had to get to Machrihanish to continue from where I finished yesterday butvthe earliest I could get there was 13.30.

Depending on the weather, once I got there, I would either take the day off and stay at the campsite there or walk on for a couple of hours and camp on the hill.

Kintyre Way from Ballygroggan Farm
It rained right through the night and into the morning but it did seem to be improving.

When I got to Machrihanish it was dry so I set off walking out of the village to the end of the road at Ballygroggan Farm.

The bay at Innean Glen
The Kintyre Way followed a track from here and I stopped to speak to a couple of lads in the Coastguards who were doing some off road training.

The track soon became a path and went between two hills then along Innean Glen before climbing steeply up again.

Goat
This area was the Largiebaan Wildlife Area and I saw a couple of goats on the hill.

I lost the path once so it was a good job I was not walking in cloud otherwise I would never have been able to spot one of the marjer posts.

Looking to the Mull of Kintyre
I stopped at 16.00 on a high point but lying in the tent now it seems to be a poor decision.

The wind has gotten up to be very strong and it is bucketing down.

6 miles and no phone signal.
