Log No 91. Thu 25th Jul 2013 - A waiting day (1432 miles walked)

Wednesday 24th

I had intended to be on a short walk to Reraig today but as I changed my plan yesterday I find myself with having two rest days instead of one.

It could have been a long boring day but after washing my clothes I caught the bus into Ft William.

My shorts needed replacing as they were just about falling apart and with a few days of wild camping to do to get round Knoydart a visit to a supermarket wouldn't go amiss.

I phoned Mick in the evening to confirm his transport arrangements and to check what supplies he was bringing.

With my new tent a bit smaller than the last one Mick was also bringing a tent, he told me his pack only weighs 13.5kg, lighter than mine!

Thursday

Another trip into Ft William, a great thing this bus pass, to send a parcel home. I looked through my rucsac to see what I had never used, there's no point in carrying excess baggage, and it must have been nearly 2kg.

Mick's train was due into Kyle of Lochalsh at 20.30 and I was supposed to be able to get the bus outside the campsite in time to meet the train. When the bus was half an hour late I gave and told Mick to start walking and I would meet him half way.

It was 10 o'clock by the time we got back to the campsite.
