Mick getting breakfast
This was Mick's last day of his holidays with me for this week and he was catching the 16.30 train from Colchester.

With only 11 miles to do today we had a lie-in and didn't start until 09.15 having taken down dry tents again.

Mick at Fingringhoe
The first session was on roads, going back over the causeway from Mersea Island and the turning off the B1025 just before Langenhoe to get to Fingringhoe.

We stopped here by the pond for a break before taking the footpath to Rowhedge.

It was a warm day now the sun had come out and we took refreshment in the riverside pub.

We now had a pleasant walk along the River Colne to The Hythe, Colchester near to where we thought Mick would be getting the train from.

It turned out he had to get to North Station which was another couple of miles further on, near the town centre.

We followed the cycle route to the station which took us through the town along the river and a park, you wouldn't have thought we were anywhere near a town until we came out onto the main road near the station, we never saw anything of Colchester at all.

Walking by the cyclepath a cyclist stopped to speak to us, he had a camera on his helmet and said he'd put a clip of us on utube!

Just as Mick was about to board his train we were met by Ray, who along with his wife Barbara, had offered me hospitality for the night and was going to keep me company for some of tomorrows walk.

13 miles and that was Mick's last camping trip with me as I should finish the walk before his next holiday break, he will manage the odd day walk once I get nearer the end.
