Log No 217. Fri 17th Jan 2014 - Newport to Fishguard, 12 miles (3332 miles walked)

Looking back towards Newport |
The path went along the front of the houses by the shore at Parrog, these were very close to the sea and some of the sea wall was knocked down, I imagine it was very frightening during the storm.
I had to use the high tide alternative route since the path went on the sea side of the wall and the water was up against it.
After a short bit inland the path came back to the coast just past the houses, I spent a few minutes chatting to a couple walking their dogs, I had passed them 10 minutes earlier in front of the houses, it seems I could have gone up some steps to continue walking in front of the houses instead of taking the detour.

The coastline from Aber Fforest |

The coastline from Dinas Cross |
I watched the Stenna Line ferry coming in to Fishguard Harbour from Rosslare.

Looking back to Dinas Head |

The Afon Gwuan estuary at Fishguard |
Then there was a Marine Walk on the side of the hill round the edge of the town down to Goodwick and Fishguard Harbour.
I finished walking at 14.20 and not a drop of rain. Tomorrow is forecast for rain most of the day, I feel like taking the day off but as I can't walk on Sunday on account of no public transport I can't have 2 days off.
