Did the footprints from yesterday belong to a badger, then?

Log No 217. Fri 17th Jan 2014 - Newport to Fishguard, 12 miles (3332 miles walked)

Looking back towards Newport
I was only going as far as Fishguard today, 12 miles, so I waited for the rain to stop before setting off, I got going at 09.10.

The path went along the front of the houses by the shore at Parrog, these were very close to the sea and some of the sea wall was knocked down, I imagine it was very frightening during the storm.

I had to use the high tide alternative route since the path went on the sea side of the wall and the water was up against it.

After a short bit inland the path came back to the coast just past the houses, I spent a few minutes chatting to a couple walking their dogs, I had passed them 10 minutes earlier in front of the houses, it seems I could have gone up some steps to continue walking in front of the houses instead of taking the detour.

The coastline from Aber Fforest
It made a fine change not to have to wear my waterproof jacket, it was far too warm for it in the mild weather.

The coastline from Dinas Cross
The path went round the headland of Dinas Head before heading for Fishguard.

I watched the Stenna Line ferry coming in to Fishguard Harbour from Rosslare.

Looking back to Dinas Head
The large number of badgers around are creating a hazard for walkers, one section of path had a notice up warning of the many large holes along the path.

The Afon Gwuan estuary at Fishguard
After passing the old fort and cannons at Castle Point the path went onto the road into Fishguard to get round the estuary.

Then there was a Marine Walk on the side of the hill round the edge of the town down to Goodwick and Fishguard Harbour.

I finished walking at 14.20 and not a drop of rain. Tomorrow is forecast for rain most of the day, I feel like taking the day off but as I can't walk on Sunday on account of no public transport I can't have 2 days off.
