Log No 182. Mon 18th Nov 2013 - Ulverston to Grange-over-Sands, 15 miles (2787 miles walked)

Footbridge over River Leven |
The first hour was spent walking out of Ulverston on the A590, not the most enjoyable of walks.
At Greenodd I left the road, crossing over the River Leven by the footbridge then a footpath through a soggy field to get to Roudsea Wood.

Roudsea Wood |
At the next open gate a similar sign additionally had "No Pedestrian Access" on it, too late now.
All this area was owned by Holker Park Estate and was full of "No Access" signs. I had planned on using these farm tracks & roads to get to Cark but instead took the road to get onto the B5278.

Footpath from Kents Bank |
The railway line hugs the shore of the estuary and a footpath went between the back of the houses and the railway to Grange-over-Sands.

Promenade at Grange-over-Sands |
Most of the land around the estuary is very flat but Kents Bank & Grange are on the side of a hill and the roads & streets are narrow with parking at a premium.
When I drove into Grange this morning to catch the train I couldn't find anywhere free to park the camper so I had to go into a car park and that cost me £6, the first time I have had to pay.
15 miles in 5 hours.
